One word that describes Savannah “Sav” Britt is innovation. Possessing the abilities of an athlete and a drama enthusiast, Britt contributes to her community in a variety of ways. From dancing on an empty stage and pointing her toes to quickly remembering lines in a script, Britt grew up in a place where dreams come true.

Living in the New Eras “East Hollywood” there was a sea of great opportunities for Britt. She displayed her talents before many audiences performing in different genres of plays and dances. Savannah has met a variety of celebrities including Josh Hutcherson, Colin Ford and The Rock.

“Researching actors online and later getting to meet and interview them is really cool.” Britt stated. She hopes to use entertainment news to expand the acceptance of cultural diversity. Additionally, she maintains good health and fitness by running.

Britt makes sure that good health is one of her top priorities. She runs on the cross-country team at Hoggard High School. She used her impressive skills to run a half marathon, which is one of her, many accomplishments.

“The best part about running in the marathon was being on the beach and finishing it with my best friend, “Britt said. Savannah doesn’t just have a passion for fitness; she also enjoys playing and listening to music.

 

Britt has a very old soul and such a warm-heart. Her soul is influenced by her favorite artist, Bon Jovi, whose music shaped her life.

“I’m completely obsessed with Bon Jovi,” Britt said. Like Bon Jovi, Savannah spends her free time playing the guitar and inspiring others through music. She got her first guitar at the age of 14 and hasn’t stopped playing since. Her music is not the only thing that inspires others; it is her strong belief in diversity.

Her rich heritage gives Savannah a different perspective on life and a genuine appreciation for all people. Her mother shared her Chinese heritage with Savannah and passed down wonderful traits that also inspire Savannah to pursue her dreams. While her father, who is Scotch-Irish and a professional public speaker, inspired her to become a broadcaster.

Savannah’s Great grandfather, who attended UNC Chapel Hill, once dreamed of becoming a sports journalist. She wants to achieve the dream he started and begin a new legacy. Savannah, hopes that the opportunity to attend the Chuck Stone workshop is a stepping stone to a career in broadcasting.

She recalls a quote from a close family friend who shares her Chinese background: “If you want happiness for an hour, take a nap. If you want happiness for a day, go shopping or see a movie. If you want happiness for a year, win a lottery. If you want happiness for a lifetime, help your fellow human beings.”
